Following the huge critical success of its first foray into the world of scripted series ("Mad Men"), AMC follows up with "Breaking Bad," about a high school chemistry teacher (played by Bryan Cranston) who finds out he has terminal cancer and decides to run a crystal meth lab on the side in order to provide for his family's financial well-being once he's gone.The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.
