Mad Men

Nominee Image for Mad Men

Nominations:

Set in 1960's New York, this series follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell while their private world gets sold. Story revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper, the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels.

I love this show, I feed my kids early every Sunday night just so I don't have to move for one hour. I don't want to miss ever a little bit, I never go to pee when this show is on and I drink about 24 glasses of water a day. I am very glad they won.

I loved The Sopranos but I think Madmen is, in it's own way, every bit as good. It's set in the '60s, but the conflicts and moral dilemmas are still relevant. We've all met these people, the talented, the flawed, the pitiful. Great characters, scripts and production. It makes my Sunday nights.

Mad Men and Dexter, Mad Men does deserve the best drama award. Both Don and Dexter are a little Mad.

Mad Men is a fresh and unique piece of entertainment that doesn't "dumb down" the script, characters, plot line, etc. I remember growing up with wonderful TV dramas in the 50's and 60's, like Playhouse Theater that gave us an hour of great acting, a real story and true drama. Most of the masses who don't like Mad Men don't seem to grasp the subtle humor and subtle acting at all. Too b

Near perfection in every way. And the writers and Matt Weiner(producer) trust us, the audience, to have 2 braincells to rub together. They don't give you a nice neat little handholding story. The writers challenge the audience, and have succeeded brilliantly. I love that the cast was a group of unknown actors, who were given a chance to shine, and have a showcase for their superb talent.
